Our publicist has asked
for a bit of help. He's just informed me that Oprah is doing a show
entitled
Are your children scared about the war?
He's not sure they are going to cover the topic from the perspective of
children of military personnel and suggested that our book was a great
way to broach the topic. I'm very glad to have someone as connected as
he is working toward the interest of the military community and figured
we should help him out a little!
I hope that our community is represented on that program. there is no
community more intimately affected by war.
I would love to represent you as the author of these books and offer
oprah information about how children of military personnel cope and
present these tools which deal with issues of fear, helplessness and
concern from a child's perspective.
The good news is Montel is doing a show where he's talking military
families about their experience during the war. I'm going to be an
expert guest there and would love to share with Oprah's audience as
well. (Ed. Note- Montel cancelled that show :( )
I would love to offer Oprah information about how children of military
personnel cope, and the strength of their parents. I'd love
present these tools which deal with confronting war from a military
child's perspective.
ASK OPRAH
Please ask Oprah to help
use her substantial power and compassion to bring the story of our
community's perspective on this issue to the rest of the world.
There is no community more intimately affected by war.

REFERENCE THESE EDUCATORS AND PSYCHOLOGISTS
You can reference these
articles and comments where educators and psychologists reference the
books as a tool to speak with kids whose parents are in the war:
"I
am an active duty Navy child psychiatrist and father of six. I
loved your books. They will be helpful in my work with families of
deployed parents, if not for my own family should I get orders.
Thanks so much!"
